My name is Joyce Shain and I'm 80 yrs old. My dog's name is Mandy and she is a 12yr old King Shepherd, who I have raised since she was 6 weeks old.
I am disabled and so is Mandy. She has severe hip dysplasia. When she was young, she was playful and learned so many commands and tricks. She was a true working dog that was active, happy, and protecting me like a true Shepherd canine.
Through the years. Mandy started to have trouble getting up from a lying position, then she started to limp, and finally, she couldn't get up or down staircases. Mandy no longer did her tricks. Her quality of life diminished rapidly and you could clearly see and feel her sadness and pain.
