CBD oil can support your feline friend's overall wellbeing, help with emotional distress, and promote relief from some of the root causes of physical discomfort and mobility struggles.

Cats are notoriously independent, though, and getting them to take their CBD oil or treats can be a challenge. Whether they're picky eaters and avoid CBD treats, or they look at you with a puzzled expression when you hold out the oil dropper, this article will help you get the job done.

Let's get started.

How to Give Cats CBD Oil

CBD oil is one of the trickier ones to give cats, but it's not always too difficult.

The first thing to try is holding the dropper above their mouth with a little oil dangling off and see if they lick it. Many cats will lick the oil curiously, even if they don't enjoy the flavor.

If your cat is particularly docile and friendly, you might even be able to give them a belly rub, prop their mouth open, and drop a couple of drops in.

Try Dropping CBD Oil onto Your Cat's Wet Food

Cats can hardly resist a fresh can of wet food. Dropping your cat's daily dosage onto a bowl of wet food works almost 100% of the time. In most cases, cats will lick the bowl clean, and this ensures that they consumed the CBD oil.

The same idea applies to your cat's favorite treats. Add a drop or two of CBD oil to your cat's favorite treat, let it soak in for a moment, then give it to your cat. In many cases the cat will sniff, inspect the slightly different smell, and proceed to eat the treat like normal.

How to Give Cats CBD Treats

CBD treats are usually formulated to be tasty for cats, but your cat might not be interested in the flavor of the treats you chose.

In this case, try crunching up the treats and mixing them in with your cat's food. Take a look at the food bowl after your cat eats to see if they simply avoided the CBD treat. If not, just continue breaking up the treat and adding it to the food until they notice.

Break Up The Treat and Hide it in Wet Food

Again, wet food saves the day here. If your cat doesn't want the CBD treat mixed in with its food, simply break up the treat finely and mix it in with their wet food.

When the crumbled up treat is covered in your cat's favorite wet food flavor, there's little chance that it won't eat it.

How Much CBD to Give Cats

Regardless of whether you're giving your cat treats or oils, there's a rule of thumb dosage to use.

The overall rule is to start with 1mg of CBD per 10lbs of your cat's weight, twice daily. This is the generally safe starting point that's well-tolerated by most cats.

If you notice great results using this dosage, just stick with it. There's no reason to adjust or add more CBD to your cat's daily routine until you notice results fading.

If you don't notice results within the first two weeks, you can increase the dosage by 0.5mg twice daily and wait another two weeks.

Getting The Accurate CBD Dosages for Your Cat

Lolahemp CBD oil for cats comes with a clearly labeled dropper with markings for mL. This makes it very easy to quickly and effectively give your cat the dosage they need.

The same should be true about any CBD oil for cats that you buy. In the case of CBD treats for cats, the bag should clearly label the mg of CBD present in each treat.

Conclusion

There's a way to give your cat CBD, no matter how picky or defiant they can be at times. By layering the CBD oil or treats into their favorite foods, you can easily get the job done.

In many cases, cats will enjoy the flavor of the oil or treat, so there won't be any issues getting them to take their daily dosage. Contact Lolahemp with any questions you have, or if you'd like to learn more about the best CBD oil available for cats.
